Web Games

A collection of custom browser-based games built from scratch for clients. These are a few of my favorite projects I've had the chance to work on.

Florida Lottery: Gull Invaders

  • Phaser

To launch Florida’s new 300X the Cash scratch-off, we leaned into a classically Florida insight: this ticket is so desirable, even the seagulls want it. PPK created a TV spot where a player fended off a flock of gulls trying to steal his ticket, then extended the campaign with an arcade-inspired online game called “Gull Invaders,” where players defended their tickets using a bottle of mustard. Over 50,000 players participated with an average 7 minutes of playtime each, driving massive awareness for the launch. This resulted in almost 4 million tickets sold and more than $110 million in net sales.

Wonder: Hawaiian Bungalow

  • Phaser

When Wonder introduced their Hawaiian-style bun for summer grilling season, they wanted to bring a spirit of tropical backyard paradise to the launch. So PPK created a playable online game called the “Wonder Hawaiian BUNgalow Game,” where players stacked the tallest burger by catching falling ingredients and dodging point-stealing Kona crabs. By the end of the campaign, the game received 275,000+ total plays with an impressive average sustained playtime of 11 minutes.

Tastykake: Kirbee’s Quick Run

  • Phaser

Tastykake sought to reignite Philadelphia’s love for the iconic Krimpet, so PPK created “Kirbee’s Quick Run”: an immersive digital game where the beloved Krimpet mascot navigated a virtual Philadelphia, featuring reimagined landmarks like the LOVE statue transformed into “KAKE” and Rocky reimagined as Kirbee. To drive excitement, the campaign launched alongside a limited-edition Confetti Krimpet on National Krimpet Day, paired with a sweepstakes giveaway featuring exclusive artwork from Philly artist Paul Carpenter. The campaign generated nearly 32 million impressions, nearly 104,000 sweepstakes entries, and an average game playtime of 6.5 minutes.

Florida Lottery: Good Calls

  • Rive

As part of the Florida Lottery’s “Department of Good Fun,” this reaction-based web game was built for the Week for Life scratch‑off family. Players have to keep up as phones ring off the hook: answer the real phones and dodge the phonies. The technical heart, and the part I found most fun, was a custom game engine I built on top of the Rive animation runtime. I was eager to push the engine further and layer in more complex animations, but unfortunately this was the last web game I created for the Lottery. It’s still a game that holds a special place in my heart!
