Florida Lottery microsites

Florida Lottery PPK

I built a suite of microsites for the Florida Lottery, from a multilingual responsible-play guide to a range of interactive trivia games and sweepstakes. These full-stack projects paired accessible, animation-rich front ends with scalable server infrastructure, engaging hundreds of thousands of players over the years.

Player's Guide website

  • 2019
  • Hugo
  • Vue.js
  • Tailwind CSS

This is a multilingual website built to inform Florida Lottery players about playing and winning responsibly. There are many subtle animations throughout the site, custom quizzes, and performance optimizations. The primary site is built to be as WCAG AA compliant as possible while maintaining design fidelity, with an additional simpler accessible alternative available.

For more details, check out PPK's Player's Guide case study.

The Game of Florida Trivia

  • 2020
  • Laravel
  • Vue.js
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Terraform

This microsite gave players the chance to enter daily giveaways by answering Florida-themed trivia questions. There were over 19K participants the first week, and nearly 200K game plays within the first 6 weeks. I built an API with Laravel, SPA frontend with Vue.js, and a scalable load balanced server infrastructure with Terraform on Digital Ocean. The site was also built for WCAG AA compliance.

Assorted sweepstakes

The Florida Trivia app served as the basis for many other campaigns over the years. Each one had entry tracking, spreadsheet syncing, and a unique interactive mechanic related to the giveaway.

  • Power Up Mondays (2021): Promoting the addition of a Monday Powerball drawing, users were able to pick between multiple prizes to tie their entry to.
  • MONOPOLY Doubler Trivia (2022): MONOPOLY Doubler Trivia: A MONOPOLY-themed trivia game to promote the new MONOPOLY Doubler scratch-offs. See PPK's MONOPOLY Doubler campaign case study.
  • MONOPOLY Vault Collector (2024): Each day, users drew a random MONOPOLY token, earning a drawing entry once they collected three of a particular type.
  • Web games: Many of the web games I've created had an accompanying sweepstakes powered by this setup.
