Pinch-a-Penny

Website

  • Laravel
  • Vue.js

Pinch-A-Penny approached PPK to modernize their outdated, desktop-only website. They needed integration with their storefronts for localized pricing and availability, internal customer database, and granular marketing analytics.

We built a custom CMS on Laravel with a Vue.js admin interface, designed for future horizontal scaling via Redis (caching and sessions) and Azure Blob Storage (media assets). The platform integrated deeply with Shopify and a range of internal and third-party APIs, with custom event tracking and marketing pixels routed through Google Tag Manager.

The enhanced user experience and localization efforts led to a notable boost in user satisfaction and engagement.

Page Builder

  • Laravel
  • Vue.js

A notable feature of this website is the component-based page builder I developed in Vue.js, drawing on prior experience with the Gutenberg block editor and a custom email builder.

Their legacy editor couldn't present content compellingly unless editors manually coded* HTML inside a WYSIWYG component. The new builder empowered their team to compose flexible, dynamic pages visually. The result was a faster feedback loop and less cognitive overhead throughout the authoring experience.

* To their credit, their team picked up a bit of coding to make their content more expressive, but relying on that approach always felt like the wrong solution to me.
